So today I start my new shedule. Some of you said it sounds a little hectic, but I do like to keep busy - being off work is a serious pain in the arse hehe! Do you think I'll be able to keep up with it? I'll write them in the morning then schedule them to go up at 5pm UK time, figured that would be a time to suit both American and British readers.
Anyway, lets get started. Have a listen to this while you read; it's beautiful.
Hugo is one of the most magical movies I have ever seen, which is odd because it doesn't even contain any magic! The characters are adorable, there are a couple who you will probably hate at the start, but by the end you will have fallen in love with them. It's amazing when a story and a movie can do that. Not only is it a great story but it pays tribute to the art of film making, especially silent movies which is where it all began. It's the best movie I've seen this year so far. The soundtrack is incredible, it was hard picking a song to include in my post. ( I went with this one because of the title, lame I know! ) Every song complements the movie perfectly. I can't praise this movie enough, there is nothing you will dislike, I promise!
Contagion creeped the hell out of me for the first half hour of watching it; you might not wanna watch this if you're OCD or slightly agoraphobic. I was pretty sure I was never going to go outside or touch anyone ever again, but once I convinced myself it was just a movie I started to enjoy it. I thought it was a bit slow but there are a few scenes that gripped me. It does a very good job of making you appreciate life more. There are a couple of scenes with Gwyneth Paltrow that are slightly shocking and it's full of well known actors and actresses. That Jude Law pops up everywhere doesn't he! I'm a bit of a sadistic bitch and think what this movie lacks is more death and shocking scenes; it concentrates too much on the science of finding a cure, and not enough on the panic of the world, which I think would have made it better. It's worth a watch though.
Crazy Stupid Love didn't really live up to my expectations. The trailers make it look like a really funny movie, but I found myself slightly bored. This could be because it's a girly soppy movie though! You do get some good laughts in it and I thought Steve Carell was pretty good at playing the pathetic loser. It does get a little heartwarming towards the end, but it just really didn't do it for me.
Have you seen these movies or do you plan to see them? Anyone else still not seen the Avengers or am I the only person left on the planet still to see it?
PS: Finally got my butt onto Goodreads. Can't believe I didn't do it sooner, it's brilliant! If you're on it I would love for you to friend me so I can
